Kinsterna Restaurant

This is the perfect place to sample the haute cuisine 'a la Grecque' on offer at the Kinsterna. All the local fruits and vegetables growing in the garden or the nearby fields – from wild asparagus and cherry tomatoes to pomegranate and quince – are artfully being introduced into the restaurant's dishes and desserts.

Our Greek Mediterranean cuisine features the finest local products combined in imaginative ways, in line with our philosophy of sustainability and organic farming. To minimize our carbon footprint we focus on local meat, fish and chicken wherever possible. Our very own exquisite olive oil, wines and local spirit (Tsipouro) also feature strongly on the menu.

Main courses often feature organic chicken from a nearby farm, a delicious salmon-like trout species that can only be found in the area, creamy local feta or goat's cheese and the choicest cuts of meat from the local free-range farms. Open exclusively for dinner (À la carte menu) and boasting a healthy Mediterranean-inspired gourmet menu, the Kinsterna restaurant is set in the heart of the main historic building.

Belvedere terrace

Relaxing at the Belvedere to take in the stunning view of sea and mountain over a glass of wine or a cup of tea is a must for everyone who visits the Kinsterna. The inhabitants of this mansion surely did so a few hundred years ago, and we plan on keeping this tradition alive. This is an amazing place to sip your morning coffee, sample a delicious dessert or snack on some tidbits over cocktails. 

Built around the cooling water cistern or 'kinsterna', this area is equally ideal for hosting dinners or cocktail events. It has particularly proven to be a popular favorite for welcome drinks before wedding parties. Whether there's an event or not, the Belvedere attracts everyone on mild days – about ten months a year – to breath in the Mediterranean air and stare into its horizon. For a special treat wake up early and see the sunrise – a true celebration of a new day.

Pool bar

There's something very unique about the Pool Bar at the Kinsterna. Its unique cocktails are inspired by local ingredients, supported by the skills and knowhow of a very talented barman. Don't be surprised to find fresh fruit from the garden in your cocktail, such as a melon mojito or citrus fruit daiquiri. Many homemade fruit syrups make their way into the Pool Bar's very refreshing cocktails, so does the strong local grape pomace liqueur called 'tsipouro'.

To really feel the spirit of the Mediterranean relax on one of the private daybeds by the pool after you ask the barman to concoct one of these luscious fruit-based cocktails. If you're at the property in the colder months, you can still enjoy these fabulous cocktails at the winter lounge around the fireplace.

All-Day restaurant

The fertile grounds around the Kinsterna and copious amounts of spring water have blessed the dinner table with year-round fresh produce such as peppers, baby cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini, pumpkin, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, to name a few. Add to this superior olive oil, as well as local cheeses and fresh cuts of meat from the village, then flavor with aromatic herbs growing just meters away such rosemary, mint, sage and thyme, and you have yourself an exquisite dining experience any time of the day, starting from a traditional Greek breakfast (early breakfast service is also available upon request). For dinner, we offer a daily Table d'Hôte menu.

Sweeten your palate with some local fruit preserves in syrup, affectionately note as 'spoon sweets', or try one of our chef's more sophisticated desserts such as chocolate layer surprise or rich walnut-honey baklava.

Taverna

No matter how much gourmet flair and gastronomic delights the Kinsterna's other outlets offer, the Taverna with its wooden olive press is the most authentic and down-to-earth place for a real local meal. Open 2 times a week in summer, it boasts a wood-burning oven for bread baking or slow cooking of different foods for hours. Some of the best fish and vegetable dishes can be enjoyed here, as well as fresh salads, meat on the skewer, and chicken. Local piquant cheese dip (tirokafteri), hearty cucumber-garlic-yogurt (tzatziki) and mouthwatering potatoes always accompany the dishes here in true Peloponnesian fashion. As this cozy outdoor spot is small, it is best to reserve beforehand, particularly if there's a local band playing live Greek music.
