Byzantium would have been proud to lend its name to these impressive suites, whose Byzantine domes and stone arches have inspired many of the manor’s guests with wonder and envy. All of these suites offer exterior verandas with lush greenery, where you can relax with a book from the manor’s library or enjoy a cup of hot coffee in the morning, surrounded by flowers, trees and birdsong.
These suites were created in the older sections of the manor, with ornate Byzantine screens (templa) comprising their most distinctive decorative feature. These templa act as functional dividers separating the bath and changing area from the main room. The old mirrors, comfortable armchairs, warm lighting and small alcoves in the walls all create an atmosphere that is sure to take you back in time.
Whatever suite you choose, it will certainly leave a vivid impression, not only for its comforts but also for its Byzantine décor and details. In olden times when the manor also served a defensive purpose, one of these suites was a jail cell, now transformed into such luxurious quarters that staying longer is the dream and escape a fate to be avoided or postponed. (Byzantine Suite 25).
