We often like to think that the Byzantines would approve of the name we have given to these suites at Kinsterna Hotel; a name dictated by the Byzantine domes and stone arches that have made these spaces unsurpassed for many of our guests. All rooms in this category have an outdoor terrace with lush vegetation, ideal for enjoying the tranquillity of nature all around, reading one’s book choice from the mansion’s library; or a hot cup of coffee in the morning, watching the sunrise.
Our Byzantine suites were created in the pre-existing, vaulted parts of the building with the “Byzantine temple” being the most special element of their decoration. It is a functional separator between the dressing/bathroom areas and the main room. The wall tapestries, the antique mirrors, the comfortable armchairs, the low lighting and the small niches in the walls create an atmosphere that takes us back to the Byzantine period.
The atmospheric character of these rooms culminates in one of our suites, which has the historical peculiarity of having been used in the past as a… prison cell. We guarantee, of course, that its space today has every feature capable of intensifying the desire to stay; no guest has expressed the slightest desire to… escape from Byzantine Suite 25!
Important note: Thanks to the preservation of the architectural elements that make up the personality and testify to the mansion’s past, each of the rooms of Kinsterna Hotel is unique. Both the interior layout and the view (alternating between the vineyards, olive groves, the sea and the lush gardens) vary, always maintaining the same high standards and amenities.
